We’ve come up with some additional helpful moving tips that you can use to ensure safety while moving during COVID19:
Ask For a Virtual Moving Survey When Moving During COVID19:
As with many meetings and interactions, in-home moving surveys are being replaced virtually. At Al’s Moving, we still believe that moving is an “in-person” business. We take pride in meeting our customer face to face and walking them through the process of moving during Covid19. Nonetheless, we are adapting to these times by conducting surveys through platforms such as FaceTime or Skype. We are experienced in using this technology to conduct moving surveys and we have found it to be a faster, germ-free and highly accurate. Just call and ask us to conduct a virtual survey of your home and we will be happy to assist.
- 2. Limit the number of people on Moving Day:
We now that ordinarily moving is a family affair. During this time, we advise having only one family member on hand to guide the movers on the day of your move. At Al’s Moving, our moving crews are adapting to the current situation to maintain proper social distancing during moves. All crew members are wearing masks and gloves and we are designating one team leader to handle a walk thru and all interactions with customers.
- 3. Use of soap, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes:
All of the moving crews at Al’s Moving are adhering to all CDC required sanitation policies. This providing hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes for our employees as well as taking precautions to properly sanitize our moving trucks, equipment and all commonly touched areas throughout our offices and storage facilities. Out of an abundance of precaution, we ask that you please make sure to have some of these sanitizing materials on hand on moving day to make things as safe as possible for everyone on moving day. Prior to the movers arriving, please disinfect commonly touched areas and surfaces such as table tops and door handles.
- 4. Donate food during your move:
Besides the threat to public health caused by COVID19, there has also been a huge economic fallout. Many find themselves out of work and unable to afford basic necessities such as food. Through our partnership with Move For Hunger we are asking if you can to set aside some non-perishable food items for donation. The Al’s Moving team will transport them for you to the local Food Bank of Westchester. This is a small gesture that you can make to help others during these trying times.
